Hello world! I’m Alexa!
I am a student at Kent State University (class of 2025). Currently, I am majoring in Digital Media Production with minors in Business Management and Philosophy. As a student filmmaker, my areas of expertise lie in cinematography, creative producing, directing, and scriptwriting. I believe filmmaking is a holistic experience, so I enjoy working on many aspects of production.
Post graduation, I am looking to pursue a master’s degree and a career in the comedy industry. I strive to tell relatable stories that show other young women that they are not alone. But in a funny way.

the story
In Production I, students are challenged with creating a full scale short film within a semester. Along with directors Hannah McNamara and Vaneeda Sibounheuang, I wrote and produced the film ‘Failures.’ The story is based on my time in a competitive elementary school gifted program, and the question of “What would happen if we reunited fifteen years later?”
the set
‘Failures’ was a three day shoot that involved eight actors and fourteen crew members. Pictured here is our longest shoot day in an abandoned school gymnasium. When I wrote the film, the concept of a dreary gym was stuck in my mind, simply because the most cringeworthy memories of my youth took place in my elementary school gymnasium. On the set, I organized production design, craft services, costuming, and schedule management.
the product
After the longest semester of my life, ‘Failures’ is complete! The production team is planning on submitting to various film festivals starting in early 2024.
